Abhaneri Step wall
Abhaneri was founded by King Raja Chand. According to the popular belief, Raja Chand was actually Raja Bhoja who ruled the Gurjar kingdom in the 9th century AD.
The first thing that will captivate your attention on visiting Abhaneri is the ‘Baoris’ that are the step wells whose construction can be credited to the innovative capabilities of the local people. These are a wonderful effort at rainwater harvesting. Abhaneri has an old world charm that exercises a huge pull on the tourists. The sculptural and architectural brilliance that are reflected in the structures and constructions that dot the village is suggestive of the fact that Abhaneri was a great center of arts.
